Junkers Watches by Bernd Junkers, grandson of the great aviation pioneer Hugo Junkers. Bernd set himself to cultivate his grandfather’s history and preserve it. For example he maintains and gives access to the “Archiv Bernd Junkers” containing a priceless collection of images, drawings and private notes of Hugo Junkers.
All components for the watches are made by special manufacturers, they come from prestigious manufacturers in Switzerland, as well as a well-known producer in Japan (Miyota). The final assembly of the watches is done according to the rules of German traditional watchmaking. Each Junkers and Zeppelin watch is a quality product “Made in Germany”.
Hugo Junkers was not only a brilliant engineer, but also a great admirer of expressionist painting and modern design. Consequently he developed a close and very fertile connection with the artists of the Bauhaus movement, which was originated in Dessau. Faithful to the motto of Marcel Breuer: ” The good artist works together with the good engineer”, Hugo Junkers adopted the high aesthetic claims of the Bauhaus movement for the creation of his aeroplanes.
